A shooting incident occurred last night around 9:45 on Grambling State Universty Campus near the basketball courts. A suspect has been arrested. One person was shot in the buttocks and is in stable condition.

This incident is being investigated by the Lincoln Parish police and Grambling police department. Grambling officials say that neither the victim nor the suspect were students of the university. 

Monroe Shooting leaves man Injured

A shooting in south Monroe has left one man injured in the hospital. The incident happened around 7pm lastnight at the Parkview Apartments. The man was shot in leg and was then immediately taken to LSU-Shreveport Hospital.

Monroe Police are seeking information.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A man has been accused of shooting and wounding two others over a dice game in Louisiana.

News outlets cite court documents as saying 22-year-old Devonte Ennis was playing dice with two men at a home last month. The men told police Ennis lost money in the game and demanded it back at gunpoint. One man threw the money in Ennis' face and he started firing a handgun.

Both men were shot in the leg but one of them was also shot in the abdomen. Ennis was arrested after one of the men was able to identify him in a lineup of photos.

West Monroe Shooting Sends Woman To Hospital

Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Keller St. in West Monroe at approx. 9:30 p.m. Sunday evening, July 22nd. 

Upon arrival, deputies determined a female victim had been shot in the hip and she was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The New Orleans police chief says a man shot and injured five people, including an officer.

Police Superintendent Michael Harrison tells news outlets 25-year-old Charles Williams' "crime spree" Sunday stemmed from a domestic dispute.

Police say one person was shot in the face and had been in surgery and three others shot were hospitalized in stable condition. The spree began when the three were shot at a home connected to the dispute.

Police: Woman, 7-Year-Old Boy Injured In Shooting

Police say investigators are questioning a suspect in connection with a double shooting that injured a woman and a 7-year-old boy.

New Orleans police said in a news release Sunday that the victims, who are cousins, were sleeping in a home when they heard a loud noise. When they looked at their security cameras, they saw an unknown man on their front porch.

News outlets report the victims started screaming and the man started shooting into the house.

Winn Parish Sheriff’s deputies were met with gun fire when they were trying to serve a civil warrant in the small community of the Chee Chee Dam area yesterday afternoon. 71-year-old Betty Lemoine was killed by deputies who had just driven up to their home. State Police is also investigating, Trooper Scott Moreau.

 

Moreau say her son 50 year old Kendall Lemoine was the target of the civil arrest warrant, he was seriously injured as well.

 

No deputies were injured.

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry has ruled criminal charges are not warranted against two white Baton Rouge police officers who fatally shot a black man during an altercation in front of a convenience store in July of 2016. Landry’s office reviewed the evidence of the Alton Sterling shooting for nearly a year.

A federal appeals court says a U.S. Border Patrol agent who fired his gun in Texas and fatally wounded a teenager across the Mexican border cannot be sued by the teen's family.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday in the case of 15-year-old Sergio Adrian Hernandez. He was killed by agent Jesus Mesa (hay-ZOOS' MAY'-sah) in 2010. The Justice Department has said Mesa was trying to stop illegal border crossings and fired after he came under a barrage of rocks.

Louisiana State Police say a 12-year-old shot and killed his seven-year-old brother in Lake Providence Monday. Trooper Michael Reichardt says the two youngsters were together when the shooting occurred. They are still investigating how the older juvenile got a hold of a weapon.

 

The seven-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Six children were at home at the time of the shooting while their mother was at work. Reichardt says it’s an active and on-going investigation.
