SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — An Air Force electronic warfare journeyman has pleaded innocent to a murder charge accusing him of stabbing and slitting his roommate's throat while they were temporarily assigned to a base in Guam. 

News agencies report that court-martial proceedings began Monday for Isaiah Edwards. He is charged with killing 20-year-old Bradley Hale of Montgomery County, Texas.

The Air Force says it cannot release Edwards' age, and won't release his hometown out of privacy and safety concerns for his family.

One man is accused of murder and two of helping him afterward in the death of a man whose body was found, wrapped in cloth, at a west Louisiana intersection.

News agencies report that 21-year-old Blaine Daniel Kennedy was arrested on a murder charge in the death of 58-year-old Steven Woodruff of Sulphur. He also faces charges of aggravated burglary and felony theft.

Forty-nine-year-old Clifton Bergeaux Jr. and his 21-year-old son, SirMalachi Bergeaux, face accessory after the fact charges. Woodruff's body was found near Sulphur.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Police in Louisiana have named a man on death row in Texas as a suspect in a fatal 1999 shooting. Baton Rouge police Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. says an arrest warrant has been issued for 49-year-old Travis Green in the September 1999 death of Kassie Federer. Green is wanted on first-degree murder and aggravated burglary in Baton Rouge. The Advocate reported Tuesday that he is currently on death row in Livingston, Texas, for an unrelated homicide that happened in Houston days before the Baton Rouge slaying.

Baton Rouge police have arrested 49 year old Eric Augustus on 1st degree murder charges of his girlfriend Lovie Variste age 76. Augustus had been living with Variste at the time of her death. Police spokesman Sgt. L’Jean McKneely says Augustus was told to kill his girlfriend.


Police say Augustus then allegedly went after her.


Strangely enough it was Augustus that ultimately called for help.


Augustus is being held without a bond. Police say the victim died yesterday afternoon of blunt trauma to the head. /

A man who was 16 when he robbed and killed a man delivering pizza in New Orleans will spend 40 years in prison.

Nineteen-year-old Rendell Brown's sentence is the result of a plea deal announced in state court Tuesday. Brown pleaded guilty to armed robbery and manslaughter.

The victim was 35-year-old Richard "Chris" Yeager, who was killed after delivering a pizza in September 2014.

In court Tuesday were Yeager's parents, who testified about the pain of losing their son.

Four people have been arrested in the death of a Louisiana man who police say was lured into a trap.  

An Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office release Monday says 35-year-old Jason Giles, 38-year-old Joseph Oncale, 35-year-old Mark Forbes and 28-year-old Fallon Gautreau were each arrested on charges of first-degree murder and attempted armed robbery in the death of 48-year-old Brian Long, who was found Sunday. Forbes is also charged with attempted armed robbery.

45-Year-Old Man Murders Infant Daughter

An 18-month-old is dead following a gruesome murder.  New Orleans Police says the father, 45-year-old Mark Hambrick told police “God made him do it.”  Police Chief Michael Harrison says Hambrick called himself into police several hours after he killed the child.

Hambrick gave a detailed description to police of himself and the child and told them he would be found on his porch when police came on the property.  Harrison says the father remained strangely calm during the arrest.

An aunt of the 23-year-old white man accused of killing two black men in Baton Rouge says his arrest has left her shocked and baffled.

Kerrie Highley, a maternal aunt of 23-year-old Kenneth James Gleason, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that her nephew was an Eagle Scout from a church-going family. She said she never heard him express any racist views.

Ruston Man Arrested For Murder

A Ruston man has been arrested in the murder of a 35-year-old woman and injuring of two others, including a one-year-old child. Chief Deputy Clint Williams says when police responded to the scene, they found Shakena Hampton deceased and the two other victims suffering from gunshot wounds.


Frank Stringfellow, the father of some of Hampton’s children, is charged with one count of first degree murder. Williams says the other woman injured, 54-year-old Doris Hampton, and a one-year-old are recovering.
