Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!

Listen on KEDM:
  • Saturday 10-11am
Listen on KEDM3:
  • Sunday 3-4pm
For a wacky and whip-smart approach to the week’s news and newsmakers, listen no further than Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!, the oddly informative news quiz from NPR. During each fast-paced, irreverent show, host Peter Sagal leads what might be characterized as the news Olympics. Callers, panelists, and guests compete by answering questions about the week's events, identifying impersonations, filling in the blanks at lightening speed, sniffing out fake news items, and deciphering limericks. Listeners vie for a chance to win the most coveted prize in radio: having official judge and scorekeeper Carl Kasell record the outgoing message on their home answering machine.

Weekend Radio

Listen on KEDM:
  • Sunday 11am-12pm
Weekend Radio, that "curiously strange and offbeat potpourri of music, wit and convivial companionship," is a skillful mixture of classical music, cross-over selections and comedy bits presented by program host Robert Conrad -- in his other life known at the even staid and conservative host of the Cleveland Orchestra broadcasts. Conrad takes his cue for particular programs from Chases' Calendar of Events, an encyclopedia of offbeat happenings, which has resulted in programs about Mole Day (a mole equals 6 x 10 to the 23rd power), Computer Learning Month, Weatherman's Day, and National Chicken Month.

You Bet Your Garden

Listen on KEDM3:
  • Sunday 5-6pm
  • Saturday 9-10am

An hour of "chemical-free horticultural hijinks," You Bet Your Garden is a weekly, nationally syndicated Public Radio show airing out of WHYY-FM in Philadelphia that offers fiercely organic advice to gardeners far and wide. Host Mike McGrath offers tips on fending off garden and household pests without the use of toxic chemicals, caring for lawns and landscapes without losing your mind, and growing without groaning in tough conditions like extreme heat, unending rain and lousy soil.

Join Mike as he slays slugs, defeats deer, whacks weeds, mispronounces Latin words and saves plants across the nation every week on You Bet Your Garden - a breezy, light-hearted, and sometimes (OK - frequently) wild and crazy island of highly accurate and family-safe gardening information.
