The Krewe of Janus will be throwing over a thousand beads in the 2018 parade.

It's Mardi Gras, and parade season is in full swing in the Twin Cities. The 35th Annual Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras Parade is February 3 at 6 p.m.

The theme of the 35th Annual Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras Parade is "Janus Relives the 80s," an homage to the bodacious time when the Krewe of Janus was formed. Since 1984, the Krewe of Janus has donated thousands to charities in the community.

The Krewe of Janus and surrounding parades are some of the most kid-friendly activities in the Twin Cities. The festivities will kick off with the Kid's Parade at the Pecanland Mall. Registration starts at 9 a.m., and the parade begins at 10 a.m. Kids are free to bring their tricycles, bicycles, and wagons decorated in the classic Mardi Gras colors.

The Krewe of PAWS Pet Parade is in Antique Alley, where the fairgrounds open at 11 a.m. There are carnival rides and games available for the kids. There is a pet costume and float contest at 12 p.m., and the parade of pets will march at 1:30 p.m.

This year, due to the problems faced with the old route, the parade is taking a new route. The parade proceeds as follows:
