Last year over 223 pounds of prescription drugs were disposed of in the community.

Saturday April 29th is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The Northeast Louisiana Children's Coalition is partnering with the University of Louisiana Monroe's Pharmacy Program to provide eight locations for the community to take back expired, unwanted, and potentially harmful prescription drugs.

The eight locations where the community can take back their unwanted prescription drugs are spread throughout Ouachita, Lincoln, and Union Parish.

Monroe:

  1. Super One on Louisville
  2. Brookshire's on North 18th
  3. Brookshire's on 165
  4. Troop F Headquarters

West Monroe:

  1. Super One on Cypress

Farmerville:

  1. Brookshire's on Sterlington Highway

Bastrop:

Rustion:

The Children's Coalition through the Office for Behavioral Health works in Union Parish year round to help reduce the abuse of alcohol and prescription drugs. There will be around twenty ULM Pharmacy students along with Brookshire's pharmacists collecting donations. Liquids, creams, inhalers, and epi pens will not be excepted.
