Food Bank Collected/Donated

Monroe city Employees wrapped up their October Benevolent Act - A canned food drive for the Food Bank of NELA.

Mayor Jamie Mayo says, "This effort was led by Stacey Rowell and the personnel from our Dept. of Administration. Workers within each city department used their personal funds to purchase and donate canned food items. Our goal was to collect/donate 1,800 pounds. Due to the tremendous generosity of your city workers, we are Monroe Proud to say that we surpassed our goal and collected/donated 4,701 pounds of canned food today. Kudos to the Monroe Police Department for donating the most food (2,057) pounds."

The food bank is seeking support,  either as individual, or a part of a church, school, civic, or social group. Any funds raised or food donated will help feel local seniors, students, and families in NELA.
