House Of Horror Mixes Dancing & The Dead

Strauss Theatre Center

A sleazy Wall Street broker finds himself stranded during a business trip in London.  He wanders his way to a mysterious house.  Seeking shelter, he soon encounters some paranormal creatures that deliver an arcane message through dance.

The House Of Horror is an original production by Taylor Wolff.  She directs and choreographs the show this Saturday at the Strauss Theatre Center.  "I was listening to several songs, when I began to picture a dance portrayed by a vampire or other character that eventually took shape in this work," said Wolff.  "The dances share a story that Jack (main character) begins to see as a life lesson of where he is and needs to be."

Aslin Tucker, a character in the performance, refers to the production as a "danceical"  She says interpretive dance and music combine to tell the story, as where a musical uses song.  House Of Horror is presented  on January 10th, 7 p.m., at the Strauss Theatre's Main Stage.
