Gov. Edwards Announces New Ruston Campus For Delta And Collaboration With ULM, Tech, and Grambling

Governor John Bel Edwards announces a new campus is coming for LDCC.

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards addressed a packed house at the Historic Ruston Fire Station this morning. He announced a new initiave to establish a technology park in Ruston to be anchored by a new campus of Louisiana Delta Community College - Ruston. 

LDCC will receive money to build a new $8.1 million dollar campus that will be co-branded with Louisiana Tech and collaborate with The University of Louisiana Monroe and Grambling State University.  The new campus will focus on advanced manafacturing and workforce training. The money is from the "Invest 360" program for community colleges to make sure Louisiana can meet demand for trainded educated skilled workers  According to the governor ULM will team up to engage students in advanced construction managment at the technology center.

Governor John Bel Edwards said, "This is the key in making sure we get investment oppurtunity from business in Louisiana."

Edwards said that the center will get Louisiana citizens ready to enter an advanced workforce and lure businesses to our area because we have trained workers. 

LDCC Chancellor Dennis Epps said '"We will be beter able to serve the entire region. We are excited, This project will be a powerful magnet to attract jobs to our region and area."

Plans are currently being designed for the new campus.
