Go Big by Shopping Small

Small Business Saturday
/
West Monroe Chamber of Commerce
Approximatley $14.3 billion was spent during the 2014 Small Business Saturday .

Think Local. Shop Local.

Small businesses shine on Saturday, November 26th for Small business Saturday. American Express started Small Business Saturday in 2010, and it's celebrated every year the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

This day is dedicated to to supporting small businesses across the communities of the United States. Last year an estimated 95 million shoppers came out and shopped small. This is important because shopping small doesn't only support the business you shop in; president of the West Monroe West Ouachita chamber of commerce, Courtney Hornsby, shares that, " by shopping or dining in a small business, you are showing support for small businesses while reinvesting in the community you call home".

Louisiana has more than 424,000 small businesses, and these businesses play a key role in the state's economy. It is estimated that small businesses employ nearly 900,000 people in Louisiana.
