Community Advisory Board
Since its inception, KEDM has maintained a Community Advisory Board to assist the station in fulfilling its mission. The CAB provides station management with important counsel regarding the needs and interests of our community, which informs the programming and service decisions made on behalf of our audience. KEDM CAB members, drawn from across our community, generously donate their time and talents to assist with community outreach, fundraising, and strategic planning.
While some public radio stations are mandated to have a community advisory board, KEDM, because it is licensed to a state university, is not; however, we voluntarily choose to maintain an advisory board as a reflection of our commitment to the listeners we strive to serve. The role of the KEDM CAB is purely advisory; governance of KEDM ultimately rests with the station's licensee, the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System.
New CAB members are selected each year by the Director of University Broadcasting, in consultation with the executive committee of the board. The board elects its own officers. If you are interested in becoming a member of the KEDM CAB, please contact the Director of University Broadcasting.
