A two-and-a-half mile guided hike of Poverty Point State Historic Site is Saturday, February 23rd at 11am. Participants will explore the park's earthen ridges and mounds while learning about the prehistoric peoples that once occupied the site over 3,500 years ago. Other topics covered by the ranger guide include wildlife, archaeology, and recent history of the area.
