First Steps in Grief Recovery is free one-night gathering for those who are suffering the loss of loved ones. The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Monroe's Forsythe Church of Christ.
A presentation by Jayme Stokes, high school principal at Ouachita Christian School, will start the evening. Stokes has a master's degree in counseling from the University of Louisiana-Monroe. Following that presentation, three groups will be available for discussions of issues related to: - "Loss of a Mate," led by Royce and Carol Ogle, "Loss Due to Suicide," led by Teddi McGehee, and "Loss of a Child," led by French Smith.
