YMCA celebrates two months of Natatorium partnership | ULM Forum 3-23-12

Facelift efforts for the ULM Natatorium include draping the ceiling and minor repairs.

The YMCA of Northeast Louisiana says it's topped 500 members since taking over operations of the Lake C. Oxford Natatorium at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Executive Director Chris Pealer says private donations toward a facelift of the natatorium have resulted in increased membership and interest in the facility.

In mid-January, the University of Louisiana at Monroe entered into an agreement with the YMCA for management and operations of the campus Natatorium.  The YMCA took over membership, programming schedules, and special events; while ULM assists with preventive maintenance, insurance, and utility costs.
