Discovery is one of the first things that engages kids in learning. The University of Louisiana at Monroe Bayou Discovery Science camp hopes to take that love of discovery and attach some science learning.

Allison Wiedemeier directs the camp, now in its second year, and explains how the camp got its start from her son's birthday party at the ULM Museum of Natural History.

Weidemeier

Wiedemeier says the camp is a chance to build a bridge between children's natural curiousity about the world around them and the scientific process of experimentation.
