Suicide is never an easy subject to talk about. For those dealing with the loss of a loved one from suicide, it can be even harder. In recognition of National Survivors of Suicide Day, the University of Louisiana at Monroe hosted an event to increase awareness of suicide and to offer support.
Peggy Buffington is the project director of ULM HELPS, or Helping Educators and Learners Prevent Suicide.
