Business often spans continents. Increasingly, so does education. The University of Louisiana at Monroe recently announced the expansion of an agreement with Hanbat National University in South Korea.

The agreement focuses on the use of wireless communication as an educational tool with a new concentration within ULM's master's in educational technology leadership. The new concentration is mobile and wireless communication.

ULM President Nick Bruno and Hanbat President Won-Mook Lee stopped by the KEDM studios on their way to the official press conference.

Of the partnership, Lee said, "This opportunity will be a good chance for our students to study at one of the most advanced universities in the United States. I am sure that this program will become a pathway to work together in the development of joint degree programs in the near future, which will be very beneficial to both of us.

Above all, the cooperation with the two universities will be very helpful to the internationalization of both universities."

Hanbat University is a national university in Daejeon, South Korea.

ULM and Hanbat began their partnership in the fall of 2011. As a result of their unique exchange program, students have participated in a two-month internship program. Lee and Bruno both expressed hopes of semester-long exchanges in the future.
